New Delhi: The All India Bar Association (AIBA) has urged the Governor of Maharashtra to order for immediate release and cancellation of FIR against Supreme Court Advocate Vibhor Anand. Claiming that Anand “has been implicated in a false case”, the AIBA today stated: “Vibor Anand has not tweeted the objectionable tweet on which basis FIR has been registered. Police should have not arrested the handicap lawyer without first checking that whether Anand has actually made the objectionable tweet.”
The All India Bar Association also requested the Chief Minister of Maharashtra to advise the Police to release Advocate Vibhor Anand immediately.
It may be mentioned that Anand, a Delhi-based lawyer, was arrested last week by the cyber cell of Mumbai Police for allegedly spreading fake conspiracy theories in connection with the deaths of Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager Disha Salian.
An FIR was registered against him in August this year after he allegedly posted three YouTube videos in which he made allegations against Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray and his cabinet colleague Anil Deshmukh.
