Guwahati: Reports are pouring from various parts of Assam over the damages caused by the massive earthquake and subsequent aftershocks.
In Guwahati, a number of concrete buildings including government offices, market complexes, hotels, apartments, personal properties, developed cracks. Residents came out to the open space as the first quake hit by 7.52 am. It was soon followed by a series of mild after shocks.

State Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took the twitter to express his concern. ‘Big earthquake hits Assam. I pray for the wellbeing of all and urge everyone to stay alert. Taking updates from all districts’, he twitted.
State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also tweeted over the tremor and shared the photograph from the city.
