New Delhi: Proper homework by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led to the success of the just concluded G20 Summit in New Delhi, senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader and member of its national executive committee, Indresh Kumar, said here today.
Heaping lavish praise on the
Prime Minister on his 73rd birthday at a function organised under the aegis of New Delhi-based NGO Motherland International Foundation in collaboration with Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Shiva Foundation and All India Radio, New Delhi today, where a musical CD of Modi’s poetic elegy Vande Mataram…Apni Shaan (Vande Mataram…Our Pride) was launched, Kumar said the success of the Summit has brought the country to a “turning point” from where Modi will be needed to provide leadership to India and the world.
The way Modi could get a consensus on the joint declaration, and also garner a positive response from all world leaders on matters such as G20 membership to the African Union showed he did proper homework to convince the world leaders on these issues during his talks with them ahead of the Summit, Kumar said. That was the reason according to him that a consensus decision on these issues could be taken so quickly during the Summit.
Similarly, it was much before India got the G20 presidency that Modi had planned it and was clear about the direction that India wanted to give to the Group. He did his homework while deciding on its vision – Vasudev Kutumbkam, which means the world is one family. Kumar said the Indian Prime Minister made this ancient Indian philosophy more contemporary by defining it as One Earth, One Family, One Future, which was easily understood by the world.
Modi also made it clear that this is not an era of wars, and the world leaders endorsed his viewpoint. “War can never be a model of development. War is not an alternative but ahimsa is,” he said. He explained, “We won our freedom not only by weapons but also by our high moral standing”. Kumar also cited the example of the Huns who were barbaric but were not only conquered by Vikramaditya in ancient India but were reformed to become civilised. “Many problems can be resolved just with a proper understanding of Bharat…and India’s present Prime Minister has a deep understanding of Bharat,” he said. He went on to add: “The peace that Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) had envisaged, Prime Minister Modi has today invented that peace and implemented it.”
Speaking at today’s occasion, Dr AK Agarwal, Chairman of Motherland International Foundation, said that the poetic elegy written by Modi was all about human development. Dr. Anjana Sandhir, who translated the poem from the original Gujarati, disclosed she translated it when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Sanjay Sudhakar Hande has composed and sung the poem.
