New Delhi: The Election Commission of India today announced the date for assembly elections in Karnataka and byelections to fill vacancies in one Parliamentary of Punjab and four Assembly constituencies of Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya. All elections will be held on May 10 and the counting will begin on May 13, 2023.
Karnataka has 224 Assembly seats out of which 36 are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 15, reserved for Scheduled tribes.
The term of the present Karnataka House was expiring on May 24, 2023. The State has 58,282 polling stations.
