New Delhi: The spike in new Corona cases continues in India and they jumped to 37,379 in the last 24 hours till 6 pm today as compared to yesterday’s figure of 33,750 new cases. The recovery rate also dropped from 98.20% yesterday to 98.13% in the last 24 hours.
While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 2.05% and the Daily Positivity rate also reported to be 3.24%.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today stated that the Government was closely monitoring the evolving nature of COVID-19 pandemic in India as well as globally.
“A close watch is also kept on improving knowledge about the virus, the disease, its long-term impacts, advancements being made in India as well as globally in terms of public health tools, diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines,” it stated.

The Government claimed that the various technical bodies under various Ministries/Departments continued to maintain a close watch over the evolving nature of the causative virus and their public health implications.
In the meantime, Maharashtra continues to have the maximum number of diagnosed Omicron variant of COVID-19, followed by Delhi.
