New Delhi:In all 29 legislative bills and two financial items will be taken up during the 19 sittings of the Monsoon session of Parliament that begins on July 19, 2021, an All-party meeting held on the eve of the session, was told here today. Six bills will be brought to replace the ordinances during the session which will continue till August 13, 2021.
Leaders of 33 political parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, YSR Congress Party, Shiv Sena, Janata Dal United, Biju Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party, Telugu Rashtra Samiti, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Bahujan Samaj Party, Nationalist Congress Party, Telugu Desam Party, Akali Dal, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Aam Aadmi Party, Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Indian Union Muslim League, All Jharkhand Students Union, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Tamil Maanila Congress, Kerala Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Mizo National Front, Republican Party of India, Naga People’s Front participated in the meeting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the meeting that since most of the parliamentarians have been vaccinated against COVID-19, he hoped that this will help in undertaking the activities in the Parliament confidently.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi participated in the meeting. Ministers of State Arjun Ram Meghwal and V. Muraleedharan also attended the meeting.
Joshi, at the start of the meeting, said that the Government is ready for discussion on any topic under the rules. Seeking full cooperation of all the parties in the smooth running of the houses, he said that there should be structured debate on the issues.
