New Delhi: The entire north India including the national capital region of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Rajasthan, was jolted by an earthquake which had its epicentre (Latitude 36.09 North, Longitude: 71.35 East and Depth 156 km) in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan where it was measured 6.6 on Richter scale, today at 22:17:27 IST, National Centre for Seismology tweeted. The tremors were felt across the Hindu Kush region and also in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, as well as all across Pakistan including the capital, Islamabad, and Lahore.
In Delhi NCR, the tremor lasted many seconds according to eyewitnesses. With the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria fresh in mind, people ran out in open. Aparajita Bahadur, a residence of Gurugram, tweeted that she ran down 11 storeys as the building in which she stays, swung.

No immediate reports of casualties from the earthquake were known at the time of going to the press.
