Guwahati: An earthquake of 4.4 magnitude on Richter Scale hit the Khasi Hill region of Meghalaya today. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake occured at Time: 01:13:17 IST and its epicenter was at Latitude: 25.69 North, Longitude: 91.15 East at the depth 10 kilometer. Updates on damages, if any, is awaited.
This is the second earthquake to occur in the Northeast region this month after a mild earthquake of 3.4 magnitude with epicentre at Latitude: 27.44 North, Longitude: 96.30 East had hit the Changlang Region in Arunachal Pradesh at the depth of 10 km on November 1, 2020.
